When the carp and specimen fishing slows down in November I turn my attention towards pike fishing. Rather than sit behind motionless carp rods or give up for the winter as many do i prefer to keep the action coming and the Pike provides superb winter sport.
Coaching sessions are for all ages and abilities. My sessions are tailored to suit your individual needs. You can use your own rods, reels and equipment or I can provide the necessary tackle. During your session you will be shown how to make various traces and rigs which you get to keep.
A days pike angling session would typically include;
1, Water craft and fish location
2, How to unhook the fish safely
3, Fish welfare
4, Rig making and explanations
5, Trace making
6, Bait selection
7, How to fish dead and live baits correctly
I believe many more would turn to pike in the winter for their sport if they understood how to fish for them and how to care for them once on the bank. My tuition will teach you the correct methods to use and very importantly pike handling and unhooking techniques.
Pike are not our only predators. This category
also includes Perch . Every summer I like go spend a few nights
fishing for big eels, not perhaps every anglers favourite species
but for me they offer something very different, the methods used
to catch big eels are quite unique. My personal best is 6lb 4oz,
eels of this size are quite a rarity and are a truly superb fish.
