About Me
My name is Kevin Durman, I have been an angler
for 40 years. I live in Ashford, Kent, the garden of England.
As a youngster I spent so much time in the local tackle shop
that they offered me a job, an anglers dream, working with
fishing tackle all day long and meeting all the top local
anglers. As the type of angler that wants to learn, their
knowledge and skills rubbed off on me and my own angling
ability improved. At the age of 20 i joined the Royal Navy
where i served in the Submarine service, whilst in the forces
I represented the Navy in a number of match fishing
competitions.
Through my youth I spent all my time fishing
for Carp in the summer and Pike in the winter, but a change in
career with the Royal Navy meant less time for specimen
angling so I started match fishing. On leaving the forces I
continued with match fishing and fished at a much higher level
entering national competitions and represented a number of the
top match fishing sides in the south east.
For the past ten years my attentions have
returned to specimen angling. I spend a lot of my winter
fishing for Pike and have caught them to over 30lb. For the
rest of the spring summer and autumn my attentions turn to
Carp, Tench, Bream and Eels. I do also keep my hand in at
match fishing and have twice in recent years been a finalist
in the Garbolino club angler of the year competition.
I am a consultant for Korum Tackle and
sponsored by Sonubaits
I am now in a position to offer my skills as an angling coach.
I am an Angling Trust level 2 licensed coach. With my varied
angling background I am happy taking an angler for his or her
first trip to give them an introduction to angling or it may
be that you are already an angler and wish to improve your
range of skills to a more advanced level. I offer a range of
options to suit you.
My courses are always “about you” and I aim to give you
exactly the tuition required.
